"I met Bonny B in 2008 when he sat in with my band at Marian’s Jazzroom in Bern. As soon as we started to play together, I thought “I know you.” He knew the language of the music, the phrasing, the call-and-response, the tough, full tone that a Blues harmonica should have. I knew I had another Brother in the Blues. When he asked me to work with him on this album I did not hesitate, but I did not know what he wanted to do musically or what kind of players he would bring to work with us. I knew I could trust him. I got to the studio, the other players introduced themselves, and we started recording the first song. As soon as I heard them, I thought “I know you” again. They are all very advanced and experienced players and our parts flowed together so easily. The nicest surprise for me was Bonny B’s singing. He is a natural Blues singer with a clear tone and a warm deep vibrato. He was born to play the Blues. I think you will hear the friendly spirit of working together and discovery in our music.
